Description
The Embraco Aspera NEU6210Z is a fully hermetic R134a HBP compressor built for reach-ins, merchandisers and beverage coolers that need consistent pull-down in Aussie conditions. It’s a tidy 220–240V, 50Hz unit with high starting torque (CSCR) so it starts cleanly on warm shops and tight heads — fewer nuisance trips, fewer call-backs.
- Application: R134a HBP (typical −5°C to +10°C evap)
- Start: CSCR high start torque (uses specified start capacitor)
- Capacity (rated): ~1085 W @ +5°C evap / +50°C cond (EN12900 conditions)
- Mounting: UNI base + standard rubber feet
- Tube stubs: 8.1 mm suction, 6.45 mm discharge/process
Key Features & Trade Benefits
- R134a HBP duty — ideal for display fridges and reach-ins; reliable pull-down without overworking the system.
- High start torque (CSCR) — kicks over cleanly on warm cabinets and higher head pressure, reducing nuisance call-backs.
- Real-world capacity — rated around ~1085 W at common merchandiser conditions (EN12900).
- Factory oil charge — POE (ester) ISO 22, ~350 ml (keep it clean and dry during install).
- Compact UNI base — straightforward mounting and faster swap-outs.
- Service-friendly stubs — practical tube sizes for clean brazing and repeatable change-outs.
Why This Compressor Matters
Real story: a drinks merchandiser losing temp every arvo can smash stock fast. Drop in a correctly sized HBP R134a like the NEU6210Z, do the basics properly (drier, nitrogen, deep vacuum, weighed charge) and you’re back at setpoint before smoko. Fair dinkum — that’s what “do it once, do it right” looks like.
How to Install & Commission
- Match the duty first: confirm the original compressor application is R134a HBP and compare capacity at your design temps.
- Recover refrigerant to spec before opening the system.
- Replace the liquid line drier every compressor change-out (cheap insurance).
- Nitrogen pressure test + purge brazing to prevent oxide and debris in cap-tube systems.
- Evacuate deep: pull below 500 microns, isolate, and pass a decay test with a micron gauge.
- Charge by weight, then confirm airflow, head pressure, and running amps once the cabinet is pulled down.

Compatibility & System Info
- Refrigerant: R134a
- Application: HBP (typical evap range −5°C to +10°C)
- Systems: capillary tube or TXV; display fridges, reach-ins, merchandisers, beverage coolers
- Electrical: 220–240V, 50Hz, single-phase (CSCR start)
Local note: In Sydney humidity and Brisbane heat, condenser cleanliness and airflow matter. Confirm fan direction after a swap to keep head pressure in the sweet spot.
Limitations & Safety
- Licensed work only: refrigerant recovery/charging must be done by appropriately licensed technicians.
- R134a only: do not use this compressor as a substitute for hydrocarbon (R600a) systems.
- Use the correct start components: CSCR requires the specified start capacitor and correct relay/overload.
- Moisture control: POE oil is hygroscopic — minimise exposure time, change the drier, and evacuate properly.
- Safe handling: use proper lifting/handling practices (compressors are heavy and awkward in tight cabinets).
What’s Included
- Embraco NEU6210Z hermetic compressor (factory-charged with ~350 ml POE ISO 22)
- Integrated overload protection
- Installation leaflet (where supplied)

FAQs
Is the NEU6210Z a direct drop-in for my old R134a merchandiser?
Often yes if the duty matches. Check footprint (UNI base), tube sizes (8.1 mm suction, 6.45 mm discharge/process), and capacity at your design temps.
Do I need a start capacitor?
Yes. The NEU6210Z is CSCR. Use a 64–77 µF / 330 V start capacitor with the correct relay/overload per Embraco specs.
What oil is inside and can I top it up?
Factory-filled with POE ISO 22 (~350 ml). If you must add oil, use the same viscosity and type. Keep moisture out.
Can I use hydrocarbons (R600a) instead?
No. This model is specified for R134a HBP applications. For a plain-English refresher, see our guide: Everything you need to know about an HVAC refrigerant.
