Description

The Supco EM60 is a dual-channel (J/K) differential thermometer built for HVAC/R techs who need fast delta-T checks on coils, ducts, and line sets. It compares T1, T2, and T1-T2 in real time, so you can diagnose performance quicker and avoid call-backs — fair dinkum, it’s a ripper for everyday service work.

  • Dual J/K inputs — plug in two thermocouples and compare supply/return instantly to spot airflow or charge issues faster.
  • Wide range (K: −200 to 1300 °C; J: −200 to 1200 °C) — one meter for low-temp freezers through to hot discharge lines.
  • Min/Max/Avg + data storage — capture trends while you balance zones or verify set-points.
  • High/Low alarms — set thresholds to keep an eye on critical temps while you’re doing other checks.
  • Backlit LCD + auto power-off — clear viewing in dim spaces and longer battery life on long days.
  • Includes 2 x K-type probes + hard case — jump on the job straight away and keep it protected in the van.

Why this product matters

On a steamy Brisbane rooftop in 40-degree heat, a tech clipped one probe at the return and another at the supply, hit T1-T2, and in seconds confirmed poor delta-T from a clogged filter—not a refrigerant fault. Job sorted, no worries. EM60’s quick comparisons, alarms, and logged readings help you prove the fix and keep customers happy. For more options, see our thermometer collection.

Pro Tip

When checking split systems, measure return air upstream of the filter and supply 3–4 m from the head (or duct branch) to avoid radiant influence. Log a 10-minute run after steady state — your Min/Max trend helps with warranty claims and stops the “it’s still warm” call-backs. (Set a High/Low alarm a couple of degrees either side of spec.)

Compatibility & system info

Accepts any standard K-type or J-type thermocouple. Use across residential and light-commercial systems including R32, R410A, and R134a — ideal for delta-T checks, superheat/subcooling temperature inputs, and commissioning reports.

Local note: In Perth’s dry summer or Brisbane’s humid shoulder season, target delta-T can vary with load — bank on EM60’s logging to show the real story. She’ll be right when the data’s solid.

FAQs

Q: Can I use my existing K-type bead probes?
Yes — EM60 accepts standard K or J thermocouples. Consider a spare like the ATB1 K-type bead thermocouple for ambient and surface checks.

Q: Need higher heat tolerance for boilers?
Grab a hi-temp K-type thermocouple (ATBF1) rated up to 482 °C.

Q: Want app connectivity?
Check the Testo 922 — a smart alternative with Bluetooth® and the Testo Smart App.
