Description

This Testo Industrial Flue Gas Probe Kit, SKU 0600 7620, is purpose-built for technicians working in extreme industrial environments, allowing accurate extractive sampling of flue gas at seriously high temperatures up to 1800°C. It helps you get reliable data on furnace atmosphere and emissions without melting your gear.

When you're dealing with the brutal heat of a steel mill or glass production furnace, you need equipment that won't pack it in. This kit is designed to stand up to those conditions, ensuring your analyser gets a clean sample every time.

Best For

  • Emissions measurement for efficiency monitoring in industrial plants.
  • Commissioning industrial plants and furnaces.
  • Monitoring prescribed emissions limit values in manufacturing.
  • Measuring furnace atmosphere in high-temperature processes like glass and steel production.

Compatibility

This industrial probe kit is designed to integrate seamlessly with both the Testo 340 and Testo 350 flue gas analysers. If you're running a different model, check fittings and specs before ordering.

Features

  • Extreme Temperature Rating: Capable of sampling flue gas in temperatures up to 1800°C, suitable for demanding industrial applications.
  • Integrated Inline Filter: An additional filter built into the gas sampling hose protects your analyser from heavy particulate contamination.
  • Robust Ceramic Housing: The probe shaft features durable ceramic construction, designed to withstand intense heat.
  • Unheated Components: All parts, including the handle, probe shaft, and gas sampling hose, are unheated, simplifying operation.
  • User-Friendly Design: Engineered for very easy handling on site, even in tough conditions.

What's in the Box

  • Unheated handle for safe operation.
  • Unheated probe shaft (1000mm) rated up to 1800°C flue gas temperature.
  • Unheated 4 m long gas sampling hose with inline filter.

Using It on the Job

  1. Pre-Check: Before each use, inspect the ceramic probe shaft and hose for any visible damage or blockages. Ensure the inline filter is clean.
  2. Connect Analyser: Securely connect the gas sampling hose to your Testo 340 or Testo 350 analyser.
  3. Insert Probe: Carefully insert the probe shaft into the flue or furnace, ensuring it's positioned to capture a representative gas sample without being physically damaged by internal structures or extreme turbulence.
  4. Perform Measurement: Initiate the sampling process on your analyser and monitor the readings. Allow sufficient time for the analyser to stabilise.
  5. Remove & Clean: Once sampling is complete, carefully withdraw the hot probe. Allow it to cool down naturally before cleaning any soot or particulate build-up from the shaft and checking the inline filter.
  6. Storage: Store the probe kit in a protective bag to prevent damage to the ceramic components.

Limitations & Safety Notes

  • This probe kit cannot be extended with additional hose sections, nor can it be upgraded with a preliminary filter.
  • Designed specifically for use with Testo 340 and Testo 350 flue gas analysers. Compatibility with other brands is not guaranteed.
  • While rated for sampling at 1800°C, for direct *temperature measurements* exceeding 1200°C, a dedicated Type S thermocouple is generally recommended. This kit is primarily for gas sampling.
  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working near high-temperature industrial processes.
  • Follow all site-specific safety protocols and Australian Safe Work guidance when operating in industrial environments.
Regularly check and clean the inline filter, especially when working in extremely sooty conditions. A clogged filter will starve your analyser and give you dodgy readings, not to mention potentially damaging it in the long run. Keep a spare particle filter handy.

Pair With

Pair this industrial probe kit with a Testo 340 or Testo 350 combustion analyser. Don't forget to stock up on spare particle filters and a robust transport bag to keep your gear safe on the move.
