Description
The Testo 0554 3501 External Sample Gas Conditioner is your go-to for cleaning up humid flue gas samples, ensuring your readings are spot on. In tough Aussie conditions, especially with high-moisture combustion processes, this unit preps your sample gas by removing water vapour. This keeps your analyser's sensors working longer and more accurately.
Anyone who's done combustion analysis knows how easily moisture can throw off readings or even damage sensitive sensors. This cooler prevents those headaches before they start, giving you trustworthy data every time.
Best For
- HVAC technicians doing boiler or industrial burner commissioning.
- Emissions testing specialists.
- Service teams maintaining commercial heating systems.
Compatibility
This gas conditioner is designed to work seamlessly with compatible Testo measuring instruments, specifically mentioned are the Testo 350 and Testo 340 series (e.g., Testo 340 Combustion Analyzer, Testo 350 Portable Emission Analyzer). It preps the gas sample for these units by removing moisture, which is critical for accurate analysis.
If you're running a different model, check fittings and specs before ordering.
Features
- Reduces flue gas moisture significantly, leading to more accurate measurement results.
- Extends the life of your analyser's sensors by preventing damage from condensate.
- Constructed from high-quality, acid-resistant materials for ruggedness and long-term durability.
- Features a small, lightweight, and efficient design with a sophisticated gas path.
- Offers fast operation thanks to easy connection and quick start-up on the job site.

Using It on the Job
- Connect the mains unit or a compatible 5V power bank to the conditioner's power input.
- Attach the sample gas line from your flue gas probe to the conditioner's gas inlet.
- Connect the conditioned gas outlet to your Testo 350 or Testo 340 analyser's sample inlet.
- Secure the unit using the included chain for hanging or rubber bands if attaching a power bank for mobile use.
- Power on the conditioner and allow it to cool the gas sample, ensuring condensate begins to collect in the trap.
- After your measurements are complete, power down the unit and regularly check and empty the condensate trap to maintain optimal performance and prevent overflow.
Limitations & Safety Notes
- This unit is not rated for hazardous area use; always operate it in suitable, safe environments.
- Only for conditioning non-corrosive flue gases as specified by Testo. Do not use with incompatible gas types.
- Always follow the analyser's and the conditioner's instruction manuals for correct setup and safe operation.
- Ensure a compatible 5V power supply (mains or power bank with minimum 3A output) is used to prevent damage.
- Regularly empty the condensate trap to prevent it from overfilling, which could impact measurement accuracy or damage equipment.
When you're out in the field doing multiple tests, having a charged power bank ready to go with this conditioner means you're not hunting for power points. Keep an eye on that condensate level, especially on long runs, to avoid any surprises.
Pair With
Pair with a Testo 350 or Testo 340 combustion analyser and a suitable flue gas probe for a complete emissions testing setup. Don't forget spare particulate filters and calibration gas if your analyser requires them.
