Compatibility

The Testo 915i handle is compatible with the included Type K thermocouple immersion/penetration probe, and can also be used with all standard Type K thermocouple probes, including other Testo models. It connects via Bluetooth to your smartphone, tablet (iOS 13.0+, Android 8.0+ with Bluetooth 4.2+), or compatible Testo measuring instruments like the Testo 400 or Testo 550s. While not specific to refrigerants, it is noted as A2L/A3 compatible for wider use.

Using It on the Job

1. Prepare the Probe: Securely attach the immersion/penetration probe to the Testo 915i handle using the innovative locking mechanism.
2. Power On & Connect: Insert the supplied AAA batteries. The device will automatically connect via Bluetooth to your smartphone or tablet running the Testo Smart App.
3. Position for Measurement: Carefully insert the probe into the liquid, paste, or semi-solid medium you need to measure. Ensure sufficient immersion for accurate readings.
4. Read & Document: Monitor the temperature readings in real-time on your smart device. Use the Testo Smart App to log data, view graphs, and generate reports which can be sent as PDF or CSV files.
5. Clean & Store: After use, clean the probe thoroughly to prevent cross-contamination. Store the thermometer and probe in a clean, dry place, ideally in a protective case.

Limitations & Safety Notes

• The thermometer has an IP40 protection rating, meaning it's protected against solid objects larger than 1mm, but not against liquids. Avoid heavy splashes or submersion.
• Ensure the probe is compatible with the chemical properties of the media being measured to prevent corrosion or damage.
• Always refer to the manufacturer's instruction manual for detailed safety guidelines and operating procedures.
• While compatible with A2L/A3 refrigerants, actual refrigerant handling requires a current ARCtick licence in Australia.
