Description
Thermography, connected. The testo 868 thermal imager has the best thermal image quality in its class, an integrated digital camera, and smart features that set it apart.
The testo 868 thermal imager is built for professional measuring performance and easy handling. It has the best thermal image quality in its class, an integrated digital camera, and impressive smart functions. The case supplied with it means you can transport it easily, so it's always ready when you need it.
Key Features
- Very good image quality: IR resolution of 160 x 120 pixels, extended to 320 x 240 pixels via integrated testo SuperResolution Technology
- Large temperature measuring range from -30°C to +650°C
- Smart and networked: the free testo Thermography App lets you write and send reports on site, save them online, and more
- Integrated digital camera
With the testo 868 thermal imager, we've built a thermal imager that makes work quicker and easier, without giving up professional thermal imaging technology. Its handy functions help you generate error-free, objectively comparable infrared images. The IFOV warner, testo ɛ-Assist, and testo ScaleAssist help you avoid measurement errors. They also make it easy to set the right emissivity (ɛ) and reflected temperature (RTC) for building thermography, plus the right colour scale.
The testo Thermography App wirelessly connects your measurement values, turning your smartphone or tablet into a second display. You can also use the app to operate the imager, and to create and send reports on site.
Features And Capabilities
Technical highlights of the testo 868 thermal imager
Simple to operate, with impressive thermal imaging technology. The testo 868 thermal imager offers:
- Very good image quality thanks to high resolution: 19,200 temperature measuring points for precise thermography. Infrared resolution of 160 x 120 pixels, extended to 320 x 240 pixels via integrated SuperResolution Technology
- Visualising temperature differences of 0.10 °C
- The testo Thermography App lets you write reports on site, save them online, and send them by email. You can also use mobile devices as a second display or for remote control
- A built-in digital camera generates a real image alongside the thermal image
- Automatic hot-cold spot recognition shows critical temperature conditions directly
- The testo ScaleAssist automatically sets the thermal image scale. This gives you objectively comparable, error-free thermal images, for example of a building's thermal insulation behaviour
- The testo ɛ-Assist gives you the correct measurement result by automatically setting the emissivity and reflected temperature
- The IFOV warner works out the distance from the measurement object and the measurement spot size, and shows the measurement spot on the thermal image. That means you avoid measurement errors, because the camera shows you exactly what you can measure
- Pro software for image evaluation on the PC
- You can save thermal images as JPEGs
The testo 868 thermal imager – smart and networked
The testo 868 thermal imager connects wirelessly to your mobile device via WLAN. With the testo Thermography App for iOS and Android, you can write and send reports directly on site, save them online, and use your smartphone or tablet as a second display or for remote control.
Application
Areas of application of the testo 868 thermal imager
Detect leaks, identify overheated connections, pinpoint thermal bridges, or detect structural defects. The testo 868 thermal imager was built for daily maintenance and installation work in trade and industry. It helps you work quickly and reliably when detecting defects and carrying out maintenance. Comparing models? See how it stacks up against the rest of the range in the Thermal Imaging Camera collection at HVAC Shop.
Preventive maintenance
Ideal for spotting malfunctions or defects on plants and machines early. A thermal imager reliably records temperature increases.
- Fast detection of critical thermal status (so-called HotSpots) during continuing operation
- Avoid expensive damage, downtimes and fire risks on plants and machines
- Electrical maintenance:
Test switching cabinets, electrical conditions, photovoltaic plants
Evaluate heat status in low, medium and high voltage plants
- Mechanical maintenance:
Identify wear on machines
Test motors, bearings, shafts
Detecting structural defects and ensuring construction quality
- Detect potential building defects, and prove the quality and completion of construction work, without contact, using thermal images
- Test air-tightness of windows and doors
- Locate insulation errors and cold bridges in a building shell
- Detect and visualise mould-risk areas
Easy checking of heating systems and installations
- Test heating and air conditioning/ventilation systems: use a thermal imager to spot irregularities in temperature distribution quickly and easily
- Trace the course of heating loops in underfloor heating systems
- Check radiators for silting
- Measure flow and return temperatures
Localize pipe ruptures
- Reliably find pipe ruptures with a thermal imager, without unnecessarily opening walls and floors
- Precisely locate leaks in underfloor heating and other inaccessible pipe systems
Locating leaks in flat roofs
- Detect damp in roofs: based on temperature differences, which mainly show up on flat roofs, thermal imagers reveal areas with sealed-in moisture or damaged insulation
Need higher resolution or added site-recognition features for facility management work? The Testo 883 Thermal Imaging Camera is a step up, built for maintenance staff, facility managers and building energy consultants.
