Description
The Testo 565i Smart Vacuum Pump takes the guesswork out of system evacuations, making the job faster and more reliable for techs dealing with modern refrigerants. In the Aussie heat, getting a deep, consistent vacuum is crucial for system longevity.
I've seen firsthand how a proper evacuation, backed by a good hold test, prevents callbacks and keeps units running sweet. This pump helps nail that critical step every time, even with flammable refrigerants like R32.
Best For
- HVAC Service Technicians
- Refrigeration Mechanics
- Installers and Apprentices
- Those working with A2L and A3 Class Refrigerants
Compatibility
The testo 565i is rated for safe use with flammable A2L and A3 class refrigerants (like R32 and R290), alongside all standard refrigerants. It's designed for seamless integration with the Testo Smart App and other Testo refrigeration measuring instruments via Bluetooth 5.0. Connection ports include 1/4" SAE, 3/8" SAE, and 1/2" SAE for broad system compatibility. If you're running a different model, check fittings and specs before ordering.
Features
- Automated Evacuation Process: Fully automated pumping and integrated vacuum hold test when combined with a testo 552i vacuum probe.
- Flammable Refrigerant Safe: Can be safely used with A2L and A3 class refrigerants for modern systems.
- Smart App Integration: Configure, monitor live readings, and manage data directly from the free Testo Smart App.
- Easy Maintenance: Features an easy oil change mechanism and a sight glass for quick oil level assessment.
- Non-Return Valve: Built-in valve prevents vacuum loss if there's an unexpected power failure.
- Broad Connectivity: Automatically establishes Bluetooth connection to other Testo measuring instruments for streamlined workflow.

Using It on the Job
- Always ensure the system is depressurised, isolated, and recovered if working on an existing charge.
- Connect your vacuum hose to the appropriate SAE service port on the system and to the testo 565i.
- Power up the 565i and establish a Bluetooth connection with the Testo Smart App and a testo 552i vacuum probe (sold separately).
- Set your desired vacuum target in the app, then open the system service valves.
- The pump will run its automated evacuation, stopping automatically once the target is reached and initiating a vacuum hold test.
- Monitor the hold test results in the app to confirm system leak-tightness before proceeding with charging.
- Once complete, close the system service valves before disconnecting the pump.
Limitations & Safety Notes
- Automated evacuation and hold test functions require the testo 552i wireless vacuum probe (not included).
- Any work involving refrigerant circuits in Australia requires a current ARCtick licence.
- Always ensure proper ventilation, especially when working with A2L/A3 refrigerants.
- Only use ISO VG 46 compatible vacuum pump oil for optimal performance and pump longevity.
- Follow all relevant Australian standards and Safe Work Australia guidance for HVAC and refrigeration work.
Don't skip the integrated vacuum hold test. It's a lifesaver for quickly identifying a slow leak before you even think about charging, saving you a costly callback down the track.
Pair With
This pump pairs perfectly with Testo Smart App digital manifolds and a testo 552i vacuum probe for a complete, fully automated evacuation setup. Don't forget to stock up on genuine Testo vacuum pump oil to keep it running smoothly.
