Using It on the Job

  1. Initial Setup: Power up the Analysis Box and ensure any optional gas sensors are correctly installed and calibrated. Charge the rechargeable battery fully before extended field use.
  2. Probe Connection: Attach the appropriate flue gas probe (not included) to the Analysis Box. Use care to ensure a tight, leak-free seal.
  3. System Integration: Connect the separate Control Unit (if using) via Bluetooth or data bus, or link to a PC/notebook using USB or Bluetooth® 2.0.
  4. Measurement Configuration: Select the relevant application (burner, gas turbine, motor, or user-defined) on the Control Unit or via software. Allow the sensors to stabilise.
  5. Sample & Analyse: Insert the probe into the flue gas duct or exhaust. The increased measurement range will automatically compensate for high gas concentrations. Monitor readings and log data as required.
  6. Post-Measurement: Remove the probe, allow the system to purge, and store the Analysis Box in its carrying strap set. Regular cleaning of filters and checking of wearing parts will extend service life.

Limitations & Safety Notes

  • The Control Unit and additional gas sensors are sold separately and are required for full functionality beyond basic O₂ and differential pressure readings.
  • Always follow manufacturer guidelines for probe insertion depth and sampling duration to ensure representative readings.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working around hot flues or hazardous exhaust gases.
  • Ensure proper ventilation when taking readings, especially in confined spaces.
  • Regularly inspect and replace filters and other wearing parts to maintain measurement accuracy and prevent damage to internal components.

Don't skimp on spare filters and an extra hose extension. When you're on a big industrial site, you often need to run a probe further than expected, and clogged filters can ruin a reading fast. Keep a few spares in the truck.
