Description
The Testo 310 II Flue Gas Analyzer is your go-to tool for getting combustion right on residential heating systems. It's built tough for Australian job sites, giving HVAC techs and heating fitters the reliable readings needed for commissioning and maintenance.
I've been in plenty of tight plant rooms where quick setup and clear data are crucial, and this unit delivers. It handles the daily grind of exhaust gas analyses, ensuring your systems are running efficiently and safely.
Best For
- Heating fitters and technicians
- Commissioning and maintenance of hot water systems
- Servicing residential heating systems (furnaces, boilers, water heaters)
Compatibility
The Testo 310 II is designed for comprehensive combustion analysis on a range of residential heating appliances, including furnaces, boilers, and water heaters. It features five selectable fuel types, providing the flexibility needed for various tuning opportunities.
If you're running a different model, check fittings and specs before ordering.
Features
- Simultaneous Measurement: Displays O₂, CO, CO₂, flue gas and ambient temperature, ambient CO, draught, and pressure all at once.
- Testo Smart App Integration: Configure the display, operate remotely, perform additional measurements (like gas flow pressure), and manage data/customer records digitally via Bluetooth.
- Robust Design: Built to withstand harsh and dirty environments, common on Australian job sites.
- Fast Sensor Zeroing: Ready to test in just 30 seconds, saving valuable time.
- Practical Magnets: Secure the analyser to metal surfaces like the burner, keeping your hands free during measurements.
- Easy Maintenance: Features an easily replaceable probe filter and a quickly emptied condensate trap for hassle-free upkeep.

- Carefully insert the 180mm flue gas probe into the stack, using the cone stop to position it correctly within the flue.
- Utilise the integrated magnets on the back of the analyser to fix it to a metal surface, such as the burner housing, keeping your hands free.
- Monitor all relevant combustion parameters on the high-resolution graphic display or remotely via the Testo Smart App.
- Document results digitally through the app for easy data transfer, or send them to an optional Testo Bluetooth printer for on-site hard copies.
Limitations & Safety Notes
- Always ensure the heating system is safely isolated and depressurised before working on fuel lines or internal components.
- This analyser is specifically for combustion systems; it is not designed for direct refrigerant circuit analysis.
- Regularly check and replace the probe particle filter to maintain measurement accuracy, especially in dusty or sooty environments.
- Always follow manufacturer guidelines, Australian standards, and Safe Work practices for all heating system service and maintenance tasks.
Tradie Pro Tip: Keep a pack of spare particle filters on the truck. A clean filter is critical for reliable readings, especially when you're quickly moving between jobs or working on older, dirtier boilers.
