Using It on the Job
- Power On & Self-Check: Ensure the analyser is charged and warmed up according to manufacturer guidelines. This allows the sensors to stabilise for accurate readings.
- Insert Probe: Securely connect the flue gas probe to the analyser via the bayonet lock, ensuring a tight seal.
- Position Probe: Insert the probe into the flue gas duct, ensuring the tip is correctly positioned for accurate sampling, typically in the centre of the flow.
- Perform Measurement: Navigate the Smart-Touch display to select the appropriate measurement menu (e.g., O₂, CO, draught) and initiate the test.
- Log Data: Use the analyser's internal memory to save readings or transfer data via the EasyHeat software for reporting and record-keeping, especially useful for compliance.
- Clean & Store: After use, clean the probe and analyser. Ensure dirt filters are clear or replaced as needed, then store the kit in its robust instrument case to protect it from job site knocks.
Limitations & Safety Notes
- This analyser is for flue gas analysis and not for direct measurement of explosive gases without proper certification and additional accessories.
- Always follow local gas safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines when working on heating systems.
- Ensure the flue gas probe temperature rating (500 °C) is not exceeded, as this can damage the sensor.
- Only use for the compatible systems and applications listed above to ensure accurate results and prevent damage.
- Regular calibration and maintenance of gas sensors are crucial for accurate readings and compliance with testing standards.
Keep an eye on your dirt filters, especially when working on older, dirtier boilers. A clogged filter will slow down your readings and can mess with your O₂ sensor's response time, making your job harder. Swapping them out regularly is cheap insurance for accurate analysis.
Pair With
Pair with additional Testo temperature probes or a compatible Testo Bluetooth Connector for expanding your measurement capabilities. For thorough reporting and data management, ensure you're familiar with the EasyHeat PC software.
