Description
The Testo 300 combustion analyzer is your go-to tool for keeping heating systems running clean and safe. This unit helps techs, installers, and service teams quickly check flue gas, draft, and CO levels with confidence.
Anyone who's wrestled an analyser on a cramped rooftop in summer knows the value of a fast, intuitive tool. This model packs decades of measurement smarts into a robust, smart-touch unit that handles the Aussie climate and job site conditions.
Best For
- HVAC service and maintenance technicians
- Heating system installers and commissioning teams
- Boiler and hot water system specialists
Compatibility
The Testo 300 is designed for comprehensive analysis of heating systems, including boilers and hot water systems. It comes with O2 and CO sensors capable of measuring CO up to 4,000 ppm. It also handles flue gas, draft, pressure, ambient CO, and differential temperature measurements, though some functions may require additional probes sold separately.
If you're running a different model or unusual setup, check fittings and specs for any optional probes before ordering.
Features
- Integrated O2 and CO sensor (up to 4,000 ppm) with automatic sensor protection for extended lifespan.
- Intuitive Smart-Touch display (5-inch HD) for smartphone-like operation and quick navigation through measurement menus.
- Integrated micro-pressure measurement for fine pressure readings.
- On-site documentation with customer signature function and PDF report saving, plus e-mail via WiFi hotspot.
- Magnetic holder for secure fixing during measurements on heating systems.
- Fast probe changes with a multi-functional handle for various shaft types (probes sold separately).
- Standby mode for instant readiness, eliminating zeroing phase wait times.
- 10-hour rechargeable battery life, typically enough for a full week of average daily use.

What's in the Box
- Testo 300 combustion analyzer with O2 and CO sensor (up to 4,000 ppm)
- USB cable
- Power supply
Using It on the Job
- Pre-Check: Ensure your Testo 300 is charged and your selected flue gas probe (ordered separately) is correctly fitted and sealed.
- Power Up & Zero: Turn on the analyser. Thanks to its standby function, it's often ready to measure immediately without waiting for a long zeroing phase.
- Position Probe: Insert the flue gas probe into the appropriate test port on the heating system. Ensure it's positioned correctly to get a representative sample.
- Perform Measurements: Navigate the smart-touch display to select the relevant measurement menu (flue gas, draft, pressure, ambient CO). The display gives real-time readings.
- Document Results: Use the on-board functions to record measurements, add customer data, and even get a signature directly on the device. E-mail the PDF report to the office or client via WiFi hotspot.
- Post-Use Care: Carefully remove the probe, allow it to cool, and store the analyser and probes in a suitable case to protect sensors and the display from damage.
Limitations & Safety Notes
- Ensure proper PPE is worn for all heating system service work, including protection from hot surfaces and flue gases.
- Measurements beyond O2 and CO, such as gas flow pressure or differential temperature, require additional probes and accessories, sold separately.
- Always follow manufacturer guidelines for heating system testing and local Australian safety standards.
- The internal CO sensor measures up to 4,000 ppm. For higher CO concentrations, suitable dilution probes or other testing methods may be required.
Tradie Pro Tip
"Keep a clean spare filter for your flue gas probe on hand. Clogged filters can skew your readings and slow down your job, especially on older, dirtier boilers. It's a small thing that makes a big difference to your efficiency and accuracy."
