Using It on the Job

  1. Pre-Check: Ensure the analyser battery is charged and sensors are calibrated. Check dirt filters for blockage.
  2. Connect Probe: Insert the basic flue gas probe securely into the analyser's single probe coupling.
  3. Position Probe: Place the probe tip in the flue gas stream at the recommended test point, typically in the centre of the flue pipe.
  4. Select Measurement: Use the Smart-Touch display to select the appropriate measurement menu (e.g., flue gas analysis, draught, temperature).
  5. Perform Analysis: Allow the analyser to stabilise and perform the measurement. Observe O₂, CO, and other relevant parameters on the display.
  6. Document Results: Use the EasyHeat software to create and store reports on-site, or email them directly from the device.
  7. Post-Use Care: Clean the probe and replace dirt filters as needed. Store all components in the instrument case to protect them from damage.

Limitations & Safety Notes

  • Refrigerant work requires a current ARCtick licence in Australia. This tool is for combustion analysis, not refrigerant circuits.
  • Ensure the flue gas probe temperature rating (500 °C max) is not exceeded to prevent damage.
  • Always follow manufacturer's instructions for operation and maintenance to ensure accurate readings and extend tool life.
  • For gas flow pressure, pipe tests, or ambient CO measurements, additional specific probes or accessories are required and not included in this kit.
  • Adhere to Australian standards and Safe Work guidance when performing combustion analysis on heating systems.

Tradie Pro Tip

"Before you start a flue gas analysis, always make sure your dirt filter on the probe is clean. A blocked filter will mess with your draught readings and give you inaccurate results, making you scratch your head wondering what's wrong with the burner."

Pair With

For comprehensive diagnostics, consider pairing this kit with Testo Smart Probes for additional measurements, or a gas leak detector to ensure system integrity. Check out our range of combustion analysis accessories for expansion options.
