Description

Clean indoor split systems without dripping dirty water down the wall or all over the floor. This wall-mounted split AC cleaning bag kit gives tradies and DIYers a heavy-duty, waterproof wash bag that fits most 2HP (≈7 kW) wall-mounted air conditioners, with a wide 117 cm opening and 3 m drain hose to carry wastewater safely away from the work area. Reuse it job after job to keep call-backs low and clean-ups quick.

Key Benefits

  • Mess-free indoor coil cleaning – catches dirty rinse water, loosened grime and cleaner residue before it hits walls or flooring.
  • Fits most 2HP wall splits – wide reinforced opening (~117 cm) suits typical 2HP indoor heads in Australian homes and small commercial sites.
  • Fast, tool-free install – adhesive mounting strips hold the bag in place, no drilling or brackets required.
  • Reusable waterproof PVC – rinse, dry and re-use to cut waste compared with disposable bags.
  • Complete kit – includes 3 m drain hose, gloves, towel, face cover and adhesive strips so you can set up straight out of the box.

Who This Kit Is For

  • HVAC tradies wanting a compact, economical wash bag for regular split-system coil cleans.
  • Property managers / facility teams who want a consistent, mess-free process when contractors service indoor units.
  • Capable DIY owners doing light internal cleans between professional services (filters, accessible coil faces, drain tray), while leaving refrigerant and electrical work to licensed technicians.

Features & Specs

  • Compatibility: Most wall-mounted split-system indoor units up to about 2HP (≈7 kW), subject to indoor head width (≈117 cm opening).
  • Opening: Approx. 117 cm reinforced PVC front edge for a stable seal around the indoor unit.
  • Material: Heavy-duty waterproof PVC to resist leaks and splashes.
  • Drainage: 3 m flexible drain hose to direct runoff into a bucket, tray or suitable drain.
  • Mounting: Strong adhesive strips for quick, tool-free installation.
  • Reuse: Designed for multiple uses when rinsed, dried and stored correctly.

Why a Cleaning Bag Matters for Efficiency & Hygiene

Dirty indoor coils, blower wheels and drain trays can lead to reduced airflow, higher running costs, stale smells and more frequent call-backs after a “quick” clean. Using a proper wash bag lets you apply coil cleaners and rinses more confidently because the runoff is contained – helping techs to clean more thoroughly without soaking walls, carpets or cabinetry.

For general guidance on keeping air conditioners efficient and well maintained, see Australian resources such as the HVAC coil cleaning factsheets from energy.gov.au and maintenance guidance from the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC).

How to Use – Step-by-Step

  1. Isolate power to the indoor unit at the switchboard or isolator as per your safe work procedures.
  2. Measure width of the indoor head and confirm it fits within the ~117 cm bag opening.
  3. Mount the bag: peel back the adhesive strips, position the bag so the opening sits snugly beneath and around the base of the indoor unit, then press firmly so the adhesive grips the wall.
  4. Attach the drain hose: connect the 3 m hose to the outlet spigot on the bag and run it to a bucket, tray or suitable drain point where runoff can be disposed of correctly.
  5. Suit up: put on the supplied gloves and face cover and use the towel to protect nearby surfaces or wipe down as needed.
  6. Clean the unit: apply an appropriate evaporator coil cleaner (for example products from our Cleaning & Preventative Maintenance range) following the label directions, then rinse as recommended, letting all fluids run into the bag and through the drain hose.
  7. Finish up: once the unit has drained, carefully remove the bag, empty the hose, rinse the bag with clean water and allow everything to dry completely before folding and storing.

Any work that involves opening the refrigeration circuit, handling refrigerant or altering electrical connections must only be performed by appropriately licensed technicians under the ARC scheme.

Trade Tips & Pairing Options

FAQs

Will this cleaning bag fit my air conditioner?

In most cases, yes. This wash bag is designed for wall-mounted split systems up to about 2HP (≈7 kW). Measure the width of the indoor unit and make sure it’s no wider than around 117 cm at the bottom panel so the reinforced bag opening can seal properly.

Is this suitable for R32 and R410A split systems?

Yes – the bag itself is a waterproof containment tool and doesn’t interact with refrigerant. You can use it when surface-cleaning indoor heads on R32 or R410A systems. Any work involving refrigerant or sealed components must only be carried out by appropriately licensed technicians.

Do I need tools or brackets to install the bag?

No. The bag mounts using the heavy-duty adhesive strips supplied. Simply peel, position under the indoor unit and press into place. No drilling or frames are required for standard installs.

Is the bag reusable? How do I look after it?

Yes – it’s designed to be reused multiple times. After each job, rinse the bag and hose with clean water, let them dry fully and store them folded away from sharp edges or direct sunlight.

Can I use a pressure washer with this bag indoors?

Generally, no. Pressure washers are best reserved for outdoor condensers or used with purpose-built frames and splash guards. For indoor units, use low-pressure coil cleaners and rinses as recommended by the air conditioner and chemical manufacturers.

How should I dispose of the dirty water?

Direct the 3 m hose into a suitable bucket or drain and dispose of the wastewater in line with local plumbing and trade-waste requirements. Avoid discharging where it could enter stormwater systems or sensitive areas, especially if chemical cleaners have been used.
