Description

The Braemar TQS 720 Thermistor Lead (PN. 651912) is a genuine temperature-sensing component for Braemar gas ducted heaters. The thermistor feeds accurate temperature readings back to the control board, allowing the heater to manage fan operation and safety cut-outs correctly. When this lead fails, you'll often see intermittent faults, incorrect fan behaviour, or temperature-related error codes — making it a common service item for Australian tradies maintaining Braemar systems.

Best for: Servicing and repairing Braemar gas ducted heaters where the thermistor lead has failed, degraded, or is throwing sensor open/short faults.

Compatibility

This is a genuine Braemar part designed for the TQS 720 gas ducted heater. As specifications can vary across model revisions, always confirm part number 651912 against your existing lead and connector before ordering. If you're running a different Braemar model, check the part number and termination type to ensure a correct fit.

Features

  • Genuine Braemar OEM component for reliable, consistent performance.
  • Accurate temperature sensing for correct fan control and safety operation.
  • Correct connector and terminations for a plug-and-play replacement.
  • Built to original Braemar specification for the TQS 720.

What's in the Box

  • 1 x Braemar TQS 720 Thermistor Lead (PN. 651912)

Using It on the Job

  1. Isolate power at the appliance and verify the circuit is dead before opening the control compartment.
  2. Access the control board, then note the lead's routing and connector orientation — a quick photo makes reassembly easier.
  3. Disconnect the old thermistor lead from the board and unclip the sensor from its mounting or pocket.
  4. Fit the new lead, routing it identically, and seat the sensor fully in its pocket before reconnecting to the board.
  5. Restore power, run the heater through a full cycle, and confirm correct temperature readings with no fault codes.

Limitations & Safety Notes

  • Gas appliance work must be carried out by a licensed gasfitter or qualified technician to ensure safety and maintain warranty validity.
  • Always isolate power and follow Australian standards and Safe Work guidance before servicing.
  • Verify part number 651912 matches your existing lead before installation.
  • Use the genuine part — non-genuine substitutes can affect sensing accuracy, safety, and warranty.

Tradie Pro Tip

Before you condemn the board, check the thermistor lead first. Reseat the sensor fully in its pocket and inspect the full run for chafed or pinched wiring — an intermittent open from a damaged lead can mimic a much bigger fault and save you an unnecessary call-back.

Pair With

Pair with a multimeter for resistance checks, control board diagnostics, and other genuine Braemar gas ducted heater spares to complete the service in one visit.
