The Javac CAL 231 is a high-displacement workhorse designed for technicians who need serious speed and reliability. As an upgraded evolution of the legendary CC231, this dual-stage pump is fully R32 and 1234yf compliant. Delivering a massive 230 litres per minute flow rate, it is the ideal solution for large-scale commercial refrigeration, industrial systems, and high-volume residential installs.

Tradie Pro Tip:When dealing with large commercial systems or high-humidity days, open the Gas Ballast Valve for the first part of the evacuation. This helps the pump "exhale" moisture without it mixing into your oil. Close it once you hit the lower micron range to reach your ultimate deep vacuum.

How is the CAL 231 different from the older CC231?
The CAL 231 is the modern, upgraded version of the CC231. The key difference is the R32 and 1234yf safety rating. While the older series was built for traditional HFCs, the CAL 231 features ignition-proof components and seals that make it safe for the mildly flammable A2L refrigerants used in current and future systems.
Is this pump too big for residential split systems?
There is no such thing as "too much vacuum," but 230 L/min is definitely more power than a small bedroom split needs. However, if you do a mix of residential and light commercial work, the CAL 231 is a great "one-pump-does-all" solution. It will pull down a standard split system incredibly fast.
What oil should I use for refills?
We provide a free bottle of Javac Shark Pump Oil with the unit. For future refills, we recommend staying with high-quality mineral-based vacuum pump oils like Shark or Element #15 to ensure you maintain that 15-micron ultimate vacuum rating.
