Description
Hydrocell 12V Torch & Spare Powerpack (GFS-L1PP) - SLA Edition
Don't get caught out in the field with flat batteries. Whether you are washing down equipment on a remote job site, camping off-grid, or needing emergency illumination, a reliable backup power source is critical to keep you powering on. The Hydrocell GFS-L1PP is a robust 12-Volt Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) power pack and torch combo designed specifically for non-Lithium Hydrocell units. Simply connect a 12V car charger lead into the socket to seamlessly power your 15 Litre (GFS-A1) washer or act as essential backup power for the 17 Litre (GFS-C1) model.
Key Features & Trade Benefits
- Rugged SLA Chemistry: Powered by a Sealed Lead Acid cell, this unit provides highly stable, predictable 12V DC power. SLA batteries are highly resilient to temperature fluctuations and rugged outdoor handling.
- Multi-Functional Utility: Beyond just a battery, the power pack features an integrated bank of 9 high-intensity LED lights, transforming it into a brilliant, high-powered torch for nighttime repairs or outdoor campsite illumination.
- Extended Standby Life: Engineered to hold its charge for months while not in use, making it the perfect "grab-and-go" spare to leave in the back of the ute or work van until you need it.
- Seamless Compatibility: Designed for immediate plug-and-play use with all 12-volt non-lithium Hydrocell portable washers, delivering extended runtime without the need for constant mid-job recharging.
Why This Powerpack Matters on the Job
When you are miles away from a 240V mains outlet, your gear needs to be self-sufficient. Having a spare 12V SLA powerpack means zero downtime when your primary unit runs dry. The added utility of the 9-LED torch means you aren't just carrying a battery; you are carrying a crucial piece of safety and visibility equipment for late-night callouts or early morning starts.
Technical Pro Tip for SLA Batteries:Unlike Lithium-ion, Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries do not suffer from "memory effect," but they hate being deep-discharged. To maximize the lifespan of your GFS-L1PP, never run the battery down to absolute zero. Always recharge it fully after every use, and if you are storing it for the off-season, give it a top-up charge every 3 to 4 months to prevent internal sulfation.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I use this powerpack with newer Lithium-ion Hydrocell models?
No. This specific GFS-L1PP powerpack is engineered strictly for legacy or non-lithium 12-volt units (like the GFS-A1 and GFS-C1). Lithium-ion units require different voltage regulation and charging profiles.
How does it connect to my portable washer?
The powerpack features a standard 12V socket. You simply plug the 12V car charger lead (that normally plugs into your vehicle's cigarette lighter) directly into the powerpack, and the other end into your Hydrocell washer.
Can I leave it on the charger indefinitely?
Unless you are using a specifically designed "smart" trickle charger that automatically cuts off, it is not recommended to leave SLA batteries on a standard wall charger indefinitely, as it can cause the battery to swell or overcharge. Charge it until full, then unplug it. It will safely hold its charge for months in storage.
