Description

This Coolbreeze magnetic float switch (CBSP2210) is a direct replacement part designed to keep your evaporative cooler's water level in check. It's crucial for preventing costly dry-run damage to your pump or motor, and stopping wasteful overflows.

Having a reliable float switch is essential on the job. Proper operation prevents issues like your pump running dry on a scorching Australian summer day, or water constantly trickling down the wall because the level is too high.

Best For

  • HVAC technicians performing evaporative cooler maintenance.
  • Service teams replacing faulty float switches in Coolbreeze units.
  • Competent DIY owners maintaining their compatible Coolbreeze systems.

Compatibility

This float switch is specifically designed for Coolbreeze evaporative coolers, ensuring a perfect fit and reliable operation.

  • CoolBreeze Heritage Models: D095, D125, D160, D195, D230, D255
  • CoolBreeze Cascade Models: C125, C160, C205, C240

If you're running a different model, check fittings and specs before ordering.

Features

  • Magnetic Operation: Provides accurate and reliable water level sensing.
  • Removable Wires: Allows for easier installation and replacement if wiring needs to be routed separately.
  • Removable Cover: Simplifies access for cleaning or inspection.
  • Direct OEM Replacement: Matches CoolBreeze PN: SP2210 for guaranteed fit and function.

What's in the Box

  • 1x Coolbreeze Magnetic Float Switch (CBSP2210)
  • 1x Removable wire set
  • 1x Protective cover

Using It on the Job

  1. Isolate Power: Always disconnect power to the evaporative cooler at the main switchboard before starting any work. Confirm power is off with a lockout tagout.
  2. Drain Water: Fully drain the cooler's reservoir.
  3. Access Float Switch: Locate the existing float switch, typically in the water reservoir area.
  4. Disconnect & Remove: Carefully disconnect the wiring and unmount the old float switch. Note wire positions if not clearly marked.
  5. Install New Switch: Mount the new CBSP2210 float switch in the same position, ensuring it's level. Reconnect the wires securely.
  6. Test Operation: Refill the cooler with water and restore power. Observe the water level and pump operation to confirm the new float switch is working correctly.

Limitations & Safety Notes

  • This part is for Coolbreeze Heritage and Cascade models only; it is not a universal float switch.
  • Always ensure power is completely isolated before attempting installation or maintenance.
  • Incorrect installation can lead to water leakage or damage to cooler components.
  • Follow all manufacturer's instructions for your specific Coolbreeze model.
When you pull out the old float switch, take a good look at the reservoir walls around it. If there's a build-up of scale or algae, now's the time to give it a proper clean before you fit the new one. It'll keep your new switch working better for longer.

Pair With

Pair this float switch with a new evaporative cooler pump or a replacement control board if you're undertaking a larger repair. Don't forget to check your filter pads while you're in there.
