Any tradie who's been called out to a no-heat fault on a chilly winter morning knows how critical a reliable combustion fan is for getting that heater firing up safely and consistently.

Best For

  • HVAC technicians servicing Braemar ducted gas heaters
  • Owners of Braemar TQM and TH5 series ducted gas heaters needing a replacement fan
  • Licensed gas fitters carrying out maintenance on Braemar heating systems

Compatibility

This combustion fan is designed specifically for use in Braemar TQM and TH5 ducted gas heating units. It's a genuine replacement part, also referenced as Seeley PN: 642987. If you're running a different model, check fittings and specs before ordering.

Features

  • Genuine Braemar replacement part, ensuring proper fit and function.
  • Large fan design for effective combustion air delivery and exhaust.
  • Directly compatible with Braemar TQM units.
  • Directly compatible with Braemar TH5 units.

What's in the Box

  • 1 x Braemar Combustion Fan Large (SKU: SY642987)

Using It on the Job

  1. Always isolate power to the ducted gas heater at the main switchboard and perform a lockout/tagout procedure before commencing work.
  2. Shut off the gas supply at the appliance isolation valve.
  3. Access the combustion fan within the heater unit, carefully disconnecting electrical connections and mounting hardware.
  4. Remove the old fan and install the new Braemar Combustion Fan, ensuring all connections are secure and properly torqued.
  5. Restore gas and electrical supplies, then test the heater's operation, checking for proper ignition, flame sensing, and exhaust.
  6. Verify that all safety interlocks function correctly and that no gas leaks are present after reassembly.

Limitations & Safety Notes

  • Installation and servicing of gas appliances must only be performed by a currently licensed gas fitter in Australia.
  • Always isolate power and gas supply before attempting any work on the heating unit.
  • Ensure the fan is correctly oriented and all mounting points are secure to prevent vibration and premature wear.
  • Only use for the compatible Braemar TQM and TH5 units as specified.
  • Follow all relevant Australian standards and Safe Work guidance for gas appliance servicing.

Tradie Pro Tip

Before swapping out a combustion fan, always do a thorough check of the fan motor and impeller for signs of damage, unusual noises, or excessive play. Sometimes a noisy fan is just a sign of bearing wear, but it'll still lead to a lockout if it fails completely.

Pair With

Pair with new ignitors, flame sensors, or pressure switches for Braemar gas heaters if you're undertaking a full service. Consider a digital manometer for accurate gas pressure checks after replacement.
