Using It on the Job
Isolate power to the evaporative cooler at the mains and follow lockout/tagout procedures before commencing any work.
Carefully remove the cooler's access panels and unclip/remove the old, worn-out filter pads. Note their orientation.
Clean the internal sump and water distribution system to remove any scale, algae, or debris while the pads are out.
Install the new filter pads, ensuring they are seated correctly and securely in their frames. Check that the water distribution tubes are clear and positioned correctly over the pads.
Replace access panels and restore power to the unit. Test operation to ensure proper water flow and cooling.
Limitations & Safety Notes
- Not suitable for Bonaire evaporative cooler models other than those specified (DS01, DS11, DS21, DS31).
- Always isolate power before performing any maintenance or replacing parts on an evaporative cooler.
- Regularly inspect pads for wear, blockages, or excessive mineral build-up to maintain efficiency and air quality.
- Follow all manufacturer instructions and Safe Work Australia guidelines during installation and maintenance.
Tradie Pro Tip
When you're swapping out these pads, take an extra 10 minutes to give the water tray and pump a good clean. It prevents algae and scale build-up, which means less call-backs and better cooling performance for the customer.
