Using It on the Job

  1. Isolate Power and Gas: Before starting any work, ensure both electrical power and the gas supply to the heater are completely shut off and locked out.
  2. Access Heater Cabinet: Carefully remove the access panels to expose the burner assembly and existing pilot lead.
  3. Disconnect Old Assembly: Disconnect the electrical lead and the gas supply tube from the old pilot assembly. Note the routing for reinstallation.
  4. Remove and Install: Unfasten the old pilot burner from its mounting bracket and remove. Install the new Brivis Pilot Lead Assembly (BS80021192) in its place, ensuring it is securely mounted.
  5. Reconnect Services: Reconnect the gas supply tube and electrical lead. Ensure all connections are tight and secure, checking for gas leaks with an approved leak detection solution.
  6. Test Operation: Restore gas and power to the unit. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for restarting and test the ignition sequence multiple times to confirm reliable pilot light operation.

Limitations & Safety Notes

  • Installation and service of gas appliances must only be carried out by a currently licensed gas fitter in accordance with AS/NZS 5601 and local regulations.
  • Always ensure power and gas supplies are isolated before commencing work.
  • This part is for Brivis HCCA621 models only. Use on other models may result in improper operation or safety hazards.
  • Regularly check for gas leaks after any work on gas lines using appropriate leak detection methods.

Tradie Pro Tip

When you're swapping out a pilot assembly, take a moment to give the flame sensor and surrounding burner area a quick brush-down. Even small amounts of dust and corrosion can throw off ignition, so a little clean-up goes a long way to prevent call-backs.
