HVAC/R Tool Kits & Starter Sets (Australia)

Want to get set up fast without missing the “one thing” that delays commissioning? This collection groups ready-made HVAC/R tool kits—from refrigeration install/service starter sets through to recovery & evacuation and automotive A/C bundles.

Some kits may be limited-stock or temporarily unavailable. If what you need is sold out, use our HVAC tool quote request and we’ll recommend the closest equivalent kit (or build a cart list around your jobs).

Choose a kit by the work you actually do

  • Install & commissioning (splits/light commercial): vacuum pump + micron gauge + quality hoses + charging tools.
  • Service & repairs (RAC tech workflows): gauges/manifolds + leak detection + service tools + evacuation verification.
  • Recovery & evacuation focused: recovery & evacuation gear (especially if you’re doing major repairs/retrofits).
  • Automotive A/C workshop kits: charging & recovery stations and workshop-friendly accessories.
  • Apprentice / first-van starter: a balanced set (cutting, deburring, flare/swage, gauges, basic electrical testing) you can expand over time.

What a “good” HVAC tool kit includes

Kits vary by brand and use-case, but most strong setups cover the same stages: prep → connect → evacuate/verify → charge/diagnose → finish.

1) Tube prep & joining

2) Evacuation & verification

3) Charging & diagnostics

Prefer to build your own kit?

If your work is niche (VRF/VRV, refrigeration, automotive A/C, or heavy service work), building a tailored kit can make more sense than an all-in-one box. Start with these core collections:

Tool Kits FAQs

Are these kits suitable for apprentices?

Many are. If you’re starting out, aim for a kit that covers tube prep, flare/swage, gauges, and basic testing. You can add recovery/evacuation gear as your job mix grows.

What’s the difference between “recovery” and “evacuation” gear?

Recovery removes refrigerant into a cylinder; evacuation removes air/moisture/non-condensables prior to charging. If you need the full workflow, browse Recovery & Evacuation.

Can you quote a custom kit?

Yes. Use our HVAC tool quote request and include what you service (splits, refrigeration, auto A/C), the brands you prefer, and your “must-have” items.

Do you ship Australia-wide, and do you provide tracking?

Yes. If your order is in stock, HVACShop aims to ship within 3 business days. Delivery is typically 1–3 days to capital cities and up to 7+ business days to remote/regional areas. Tracking is sent within 24 hours of leaving the warehouse. See Shipping & Returns.

Do I need a licence for refrigerant work in Australia?

If the work involves handling refrigerant (or components where refrigerant could be emitted), you generally need the appropriate ARCtick refrigerant handling licence. See: ARCtick guidance.
